Hello readers! It’s been a while. We had been busy with lots of activities that left this mommy with no time to blog! Mummy was the emcee for a wedding. Alex went to the Marina Barrage twice in a week. Zoo. What nots!

Mummy here was just talking to a friend about ingredients in soup. She was about to buy red and white carrots when I stopped her and told her that these two are not to be mixed together. I read about it somewhere but couldn’t remember exactly it’s one enzyme from the red or white carrot that will destroy the vitamin C in the other. So I dug out this link.

红白萝卜混吃:白萝卜中的维生素C含量极高,但红萝卜中却含有一种叫抗坏血酸的分解酵素,它会破坏白萝卜中的维生素C。一旦红白萝卜配合,白萝卜中的维生素C就会丧失殆尽。不仅如此,在与含维生素C的蔬菜配合烹调时,红萝卜都充当了破坏者的角色。还有胡瓜、南瓜等也含有类似红萝卜的分解酵素。
