Claypot chicken rice

Lately Alex has been rejecting his usual food. Read: bland baby food. So much so that he doesn’t eat much, and I had cooked this for him a while back and he lapped every morsel up. lol. Since then I have tried different ingredients in the rice. This is a good time saver recipe for mum with babe.

Claypot chicken rice
(1 adult and 1 toddler)


  • 150gm of chicken tender strips, diced
  • 100gm of white button mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup of frozen vege (carrot, corn, pea n french bean)
  • 1 cup of rice
  • 1 tbspn of chinese cooking wine
  • 1/2 tbspn of soy sauce
  • 1 tbspn of dark soy sauce
  • dahs of pepper (optional)
  • 1/3 tbpsn of sesame oil


  1. Marinate the diced chicken with the seasonings
  2. Wash and then cook the rice using a rice cooker
  3. Add the chicken n mushroom in when rice is about half-cooked (8 mins from the start time) and stir the content
  4. When the rice is cooked, add and stir the veg in to steam for 5-10mins
